SPELTA Spring ConferenceDuring the weekend of April 24-25th, the St. Petersburg English Language Teachers’ Association (SPELTA) held its 32nd English Language Conference. More than 100 teachers from in and around St. Petersburg attended the conference, which had 30 different presentations and workshops. This allowed for potentially thousands of students to be directly affected by new practices, approaches and techniques explored during the conference. In addition to St. Petersburg, presenters traveled from Kazan, Moscow, Krasnoyarsk and Cherepovets. Several of the presenters were alumni of United States Government education and exchange programs. English Language Fellows John Mark King and Natasha Isadora Frank also participated in the conference.
SPELTA continues to grow and stay active, with regular teacher development workshops and a newsletter in addition to its two yearly conferences.
