Umbrella Newsletter # 32

Dear Colleagues,

Hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful weather. I have just come back from TESOL (http://www.tesol.org) Convention “Worlds of TESOL: Building Communities of Practice, Inquiry, and Creativity” http://www.tesol.org/2008convention  that was held in New York and can’t wait to share my impressions with you!

I picked up a lot of useful information at the conference, but I feel I missed even more. About 7000 ESL/EFL teachers from all over the world were busy listening to hundreds of presentations, networking, buying teaching materials at the exhibitors’ hall from 7 a.m. till late evening 4 days on end. There were only 14 (0,2 % of all participants !) representatives of Russia at this Convention! I would like to encourage you to send your proposals to TESOL’2009 before the deadline- June 2nd! Please think about a call for panel and/or joint presentations. Here is a link with ALL details: http://www.tesol.org/s_tesol/bin.asp?CID=1880&DID=10896&DOC=FILE.DOC

If your abstract is accepted, it will be easier for you to get some sponsors’ support to attend TESOL’ 2009.

Yours, Elena
