Cross-cultural Seminar for pupils of a village school (ATES)

The programme of the Seminar consisted of the lecture "World Englishes" and workshops devoted the hottest issues of communication in English. University teachers (members of Smolensk Association of Teachers of English) touched upon the matters of Successful Presentation, Cultural Shock and how to overcome it and Business Communication.
The pupils noticed that it was the first time in there life when they plunged into the atmosphere of English speaking and were glad to participate in a number of activities which were so unusual for their ordinary lessons.
